Bharat Bhushan Patel career as a sonographer began in the late 1970’s, when most diagnosis arrived solely employing M-Mode echocardiography. In 4 Plus decades, he has witnessed the expanding horizons of cardiac ultrasound to encompass 2D
imaging, color Doppler, Contrast imaging strain and 3D imaging. Bharat holds multiple credentials in General, Cardiac and Vascular sonography both thru American Registry of Diagnostic Sonography (ARDMS) and Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). He has been actively involved with American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) since early 1980’s and serves as co-chair on the ASE Foundation Committee.
Bharat is passionate about global sonographer empowerment and has been recognized on multiple occasions for his contributions to the global humanitarian missions through ASE Foundation. He has been an active participant in multiple ASE Global missions in India, Argentina, and USA. In 2018 with support of the Indian Academy of Echocardiography (IAE). he introduced annual travel grants to support the travel, registration and stay of 1 Indian sonographer to Annual ASE Scientific sessions in USA and 2 sonographer students to attend the annual IAE meeting in India.
